Panday welcomes new Jamaica PM
“I celebrate you as a pioneer in Jamaican politics and I applaud your trailblazing achievement as the first female Prime Minister of Jamaica,” Panday said in a letter sent to Simpson-Miller. He added that he had no doubt that Simpson-Miller would be an extraordinary role model, not only for Jamaican women and girls, but for Trinbagonian women as well.
Panday noted that Simpson-Miller was following in the footsteps of distinguished Caribbean female heads of Government, Dame Eugenia Charles of Dominica and Dame Nita Barrow of Barbados.
“We look forward to your valuable contribution to sustainable Caribbean development,” he said.
