Taxi driver robbed

Police reported that at about 4 pm, Ravi Boodoosingh, of Coalmine, Sangre Grande, was plying his taxi along the Coalmine/ Sangre Grande route when he took up four pasengers, two men and two women at Sangre Grande.

When he got to Rampartap Trace, Coalmine, the two women asked him to drop them off. He then continued with the two men.

After a while, one of the men, who sat next to Boodoosingh, pulled out a gun and ordered him to drive on. As they neared Biche forest, the men ordered Boodoosingh out of the car, beat him and tied him to a tree before they drove off with his car. Boodoosingh was spotted by passers-by on Wednesday who untied him. He was taken to the Sangre Grande Police Station where he reported the matter.

Boodosingh was later taken to the Sangre Grande District Hospital where he received medical attention and was warded.

A party of police officers discovered the shell of the car in Biche.
