33 special schools in PowerGen’s fun day
The day’s activities commenced at 9.30 am with a colourful parade of teams and taking the salute at the march past was the US Ambassador — Dr Roy Austin, Chairman of PowerGen, Leo Martin, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr Creed, Penal’s Plant Manager, Reynold Ramnarinesingh and a representative from the Ministry of Education.
More than 1500 of the nation’s special children converged at PowerGen’s Penal Sports Grounds and enjoyed the day’s programme which was a novelty event. The major highlight of the day was a the entertainment by the ever-popular Maximus Dan, which the children loved.
During the day, the children were treated to refreshments and lunch prepared by PowerGen employees.
This Annual Special Children’s Fun Day is an integral part of PowerGen’s philanthropic programme, and focuses on youth development through sport and education and the event was organised by the employees of PowerGen.
