No excuse for failure

It might be instructive to note that Africans were by no means the only people on earth that. were subjected to slavery at one time or another but whereas the other races have been able to long since put their ancestral misfortunes behind them and move on to a more rewarding way of life, the average Afro Trini seems intent on keeping the memory of their ancestral slavery alive and well and use it to full advantage for every present day misfortune that they may encounter.

In this modern world of dog eat dog, no one is owed anything by anyone and if one is merely prepared to sit idle and hope that his or her situation will improve without even trying to help themselves, they surely have another guess coming.

Success only comes to those who pursue it diligently and with the will to achieve their objectives.

Contrary to widespread belief, one does not have to be an academic wizard in order to achieve great things in life, dedication, hard work and determination plays a significant part in the achievement of one’s goals. Of course, luck and circumstance can also play a major part in one’s success in life. I know as a fact that the governor of the capital city of a South American country could neither read nor write, nor for that matter sign his name.

He was however able to amass quite a sizeable fortune before having to flee the country in somewhat of a hurry.

In order to succeed, one must first of all decide what he or she wants to do and find an occupation that he or she will be happy and take pride in doing. Entering the job market merely in order to get paid every month or week will get you nowhere in a hurry. Add to that dedication and hard work and the desire to achieve perfection in whatever you are doing and success will surely come your way.

Nothing is impossible for those who have the desire to succeed. There is no excuse for failure. Persons who achieve a standard of excellence in their work are always in demand and assured of better job opportunities.
