Police netballers lock up Soul City
Saturday’s match was over as a contest from the opening period which the policewomen led 18-4, and they extended this lead to 31-14 at the half.
Police led 49-20 at three-quarters.
Donna Elise Charles scored 47 goals from her 56 attempts, Euphemia Huggins got nine of 12 and Beverly Hernandez six of 12 for the policewomen.
Deborah Bain netted eight of 27 attempts, Michelle Boyce six of eight, Ann Martie Evans five of nine and Debra Beckles one of six for the losers.
Defence Force knocked off Fire Services 39-36 in another match in the same division.
Tricia Liverpool scored 28 of 43 attempts and Lystra “Twinkletoes” Zamore got 11 of 13 for the Army-Coast Guard women.
Adasha Norton netted 29 of 41 attempts; Simone Morgan had five of 12 and Merlicia Lovell scored two of four.
And Government Printery edged Police “B” 41-39 in the third divisional match.
Sharon John scored 28 of 40 attempts, Candy Hazelwood sank eight of 12 and Ann Marie Thompson registered five of eight for the winners.
Lynette Duncan had 16 of 29, Althea McCollin got 13 of 21 and Beverly Rodgers made 10 of 17 for Police “B.”
In the Angela “Pinky” Drayton-Thomas “A1” Division, Horizon mauled Zenith 42-19 also on Saturday.
Marcella Noel scored 22 of 36 attempts and Susan Squires scored 20 of 34 for Horizon, while Nykesha Applewhite had 16 of 27, Beverly Alleyne got two of two and Candice Walcott made one of eight for Zenith.
