UWI traffic light blues again

Mr Minister, after highlighting a problem in the Newsday on Friday February 17, 2006 with respect to this traffic light flashing amber on nights at this entrance on Monday February 20, 2006 the traffic light was reverted to green, amber and red. Thank you.

However, unfortunately, on Monday April 3, 2006 after six weeks of functioning properly, the traffic light has once more been reverted to a flashing amber at nights. As you know, there are hundreds of students and employees using the pedestrian crossing at this traffic light at nights.

I am therefore, on behalf of the other employees and students, once again appealing to you Mr Minister, to use your good office to have this traffic light reverted to green, amber and red at nights as soon as possible.

It is very dangerous for students crossing at nights as vehicles ignore the flashing amber.
