Young hockey talent on show

It started yesterday and will conclude today.

The tournament has attracted several future hockey stars and some present ones with senior national players Akim Toussiant and Wayne Legerton playing in the Under-21 Division today.

The tournament began with the Under-12s and Under-15 Divisions which have been dominated by the Futerstix’s hockey players who for the past two years have won the Under-12 Division .

South East PoS both in indoor and outdoor continue to dominate the Under-15 divisions. However they will be hard-pressed this year to keep their title as the Barbados champions are here in Trinidad to challenge the best of the local teams and the Combined Schools teams from Tobago

The tournament is expected to be even bigger this year with prizes in all the categories for outstanding players in attack, defence and goalkeeping.

National coaches David Francois and Richard Quan Chan will be on hand to scout for talent in preparation for the CAC Games in July this year

Development coaches will be keen to see the technical skills of their players displayed in the tournament

The tournament is one of the initiatives of the TTHB Youth Committee and has been on the schedule of events over the past years.

The TTHB continue their drive to promote youth hockey development locally.
