Ella does one for the children
This strong statement was made by Ella Andall who several years ago sang a song called “Missing Generation”. Andall was referring to the present day Trinidad and Tobago with all its ills.
“Our country is in a sorry state. Where are the mothers, where are the voices of the women of TT? The people who gave birth to these children,” she asked. Andall continued, “We cannot continue to send police and soldiers to see about these children! They (children) need their parents. Parents stop caring and providing for their children, everybody is on a hustle neglecting family life.”
Andall is quietly working on two compact discs, yes two, she says, “One is for me and the children and the other is for the ancestors.”
All this is happening in between her travels, she recently returned from Connecticut where she performed at Trinity College in a show celebrating the life of Andre Tanker.
Andall will leave Trinidad for a small Caribbean tour starting on April 27. She heads to Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines among other islands.
“I am very quiet and humble and will always work with the children’s interest at heart,” she said.
