No word on missing man

In an interview with Newsday yesterday relatives said they were concerned that the police investigating the disappearance of Jagdeo, were “dragging their feet.”

“We want Commissioner of Police Trevor Paul to intervene because the police are not doing enough to find him,” Jagdeo’s father Rambaran Jagdeo said. The 25-year-old ordinary seaman, was on a six-month study leave when he went missing six weeks ago.

Relatives reported to police that at about 9.15 am on Saturday February 25, Jagdeo was at his Phllip Trace, Rochard Road, Penal home when he received a telephone call that his girlfriend who lives at St Augustine had ingested poison.

According to Rambaran, his son rushed out of the house to travel to his girlfriend’s home, but never arrived. The message about his girldfriend proved to be false.

Searches for Jagdeo by his relatives, the police and even his Coast Guard colleagues have so far proven unsuccessul. Rambaran claimed the police received several leads but they never followed up on them.

Jagdeo made another appeal for anyone with information about his son’s whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 800-tips, the Penal CID or South Homicide Bureau. Investigations are continuing.
