Under-15s beat Guyana in tense finish
At the Antigua Recreation Ground, the TT last wicket pair needed three runs off the final ball to secure the win. They did so, courtesy of a wide delivery, followed by two runs from the bat.
Batting first after winning the toss, the Guyanese were restricted to 182 in 49.5 overs. Yannick Cariah was the leading TT bowler with three wickets for 35 runs.
TT, in response, reached 183 for nine with Aaron Alfred unbeaten on 56, while Akeil Cooper contributed 37. Seon Hetmeyer grabbed four for 38 for Guyana.
Jamaica registered their third straight victory, by five wickets, over Barbados at the All Saints Ground.
Andre Creary was unbeaten on 92 (with 10 fours) while Mackoy Ewart made 29 as the Jamaicans reached 218 for five in reply. Windward Islands were the biggest winners on the day, as they humiliated the Leeward Islands by 109 runs at the Liberta Payfield.
The Windwards posted 214 for eight off their allotted 50 overs with Desron Lavia slamming 80.
In reply, the Leewards’ batsmen had no answer to Miguel Bruney (four for 19) as they crashed to 105 in 33.3 overs.
