Dookeran hails Indian diplomat

The cocktail reception, to mark the end of his three year tour of duty, took place at the Centre of Excellence.

Dookeran hailed Rajasekhar as being the person responsible for the success of the recent India Trade Expo Shows held at the same venue.

Dookeran effused: “These events deepened the links between Trinidad and Tobago and India in information technology, pharmaceuticals and commerce.”

He said Rajasekhar had encouraged one of India’s top steel firms to come to Trinidad and Tobago, and the firm will be investing US$1 billion here.

“All this didn’t happen by chance” said Dookeran “but because of how Mr Rajasekhar conducted himself.”

While the two countries have good cultural and religious links, said Dookeran, they had not yet fully explored their potential commercial links.
