Smith looks for Top 16 upset

Smith is among eight Trinidad and Tobago players in the 16-man competition, which will take place under a straight knockout format.

Veteran Ivor Grazette will also be taking to the courts at 9 am, to face Ryan Moseley of Barba-dos.

During the morning’s session, the national pair of Dexter Mahase and Richard Chung will duel while Grazette’s young-er brother Winnington will oppose St Lucia’s Sirsean Arlain.

The afternoon fixtures will see four matches, two of which will start at 3 o’clock, followed by the other two.

At 3 pm, fourth-seed Elvis Henry of Jamaica squares off against St Lucia’s Vernon Lewis while, simultaneously, TT’s Michael Clarke meets Barbadian Russell Moseley.

In the evening’s other contests, third-seed Richard Brown will battle his fellow Trinida-dian Joseph Cadogan while Jamaican Jer-maine Smith, ranked second in the event, will face Bahamas’ H’Cone Thompson.
