Libertville rout New Grant in Rio Claro
Led by 30 points from six-foot six-inch forward Kenno Roberts, and 19 and 14 points respectively from Jason Purcell and guard Radesh Sookoo, Villers dominated throughout.
Roberts also grabbed 12 rebounds while Purcell hit three three-pointers in the fourth quarter to kill any hopes of a Nets comeback.
The former three-time champs, New Grant, for the the second consecutive year left empty-handed.
Centre Don Wilkinson scored a game-high 36 points and collected ten rebounds in the losing effort.
Clint Adams also had 14, while Roger Halls scored eight.
In the second match of the night, defending champions Indian Walk went down big-time to arch-rivals Shottas 89-55, who now lead the best-of-three game series 1-0 for the league crown.
In what was expected to be a close match, the clash did not live up to expectations as Shottas romped all over the defending champs to lead in every quarter, eventually winning by the margin of 34.
The fast pace by Shottas proved too much for Indian Walk who would have to do much homework if they are to give a respectable showing.
For the winners Ludwell Richardson led all scorers with 19 points with five assists, while Reon Straker netted 16, Shawn Lee got 15 and Bernard Hickson hit 12. For Indian Walk David Burton and Bernard White had 11 each, while Dane Alleyne and Oswald Stoute both scored ten.
