Crown Point chases ‘Colt’ Durant Memorial

The four-year-old Tobago-bred chestnut colt, who could only finish fifth last time out in the Republic Bank Champagne Stakes over 1600 metres, was asked to carry 50 kilos by handicappers Robin Jaisingh, John Maingot and Michael Singh in the race framed in honour of the late “Maestro of Marabella.”

He will be receiving 6.5 kilos from Invincibility (56.5) who heads the handicap for the 1700 metres race to be run off on the turf course.

The grey filly Peace Offering who was beaten one and three-quarter lengths by Invincibility in the “Champagne,” was given 52.5 kilos, same as Royal Miss who finished third in the Starter Allowance on Saturday last.

At the bottom of the handicap is Captain America, beaten favourite in the Conditional Handicap A 1600 metres on Saturday.

Meanwhile, 25 runners have been declared for the Restricted Handicap over 1600 metres on the turf also on the same day.

Le Fabuleux Dansur tops the handicap with 58.5 kilos with three-year-old Money Up Front the bottom weight with 30 kilos.

And Salute The Colours and Travel Agent will take top weight of 56.5 kilos in the Conditional Handicap B over 1100 metres on the turf course.

The bottomweight with 48.5 kilos in this is Ichiban who will be making a return to racing after a brief layoff. Here are the weights for the three handicap races Tuesday next:
