15 go for Guineas,

A FULL house of 15 runners will line up for the first jewel in the local Triple Crown, the Bookmakers Association-sponsored Guineas Stakes, feature race at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Indian Arrival Day, Tuesday.

According to information from the ARC yesterday, both Money Up Front and Sky High were taken out of the 1800 metres race for which $43,200 have been collected at the third subscription stage.

And Jamaican-bred Uram have been withdrawn from the Fair Chance Racing Service-sponsored Eric “Colt” Durant Memorial Handicap over 1700 metres on the turf course, leaving seven runners.

Young trainer Grant Lourenco will send three to post for the Guineas in Bluff Bid, Angel Of Music and Phantomoftheopera, while Glenn Mendez will saddle two in Jacobite and Bold Mover, same as Jack Debideen whose pair are Smoothanalert and Harbour Master.

Debideen will saddle two of the runners in the Durant Memorial in Republic Bank champagne Stakes winner Invincibility and the speedy grey filly Peace Offering.

Draw for both races will be made at noon today at a news conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Meanwhile, Danse De Cocoa was the star of the gallops yesterday morning at Santspeedy three-year-old waltzed through 800 metres in the good time of 50.53 seconds.

Ichiban appears to be rejuvenated following a short rest, and stepped 400 metres in an excellent 23.35 seconds.

And Millicent showed she was in good form, also going over 400 metres in 23.87 seconds from the boxes.

Also looking quite well after a rest, was ex-Derby winner Carnival Messiah who went over 600 metres in a handy 43.92 seconds.
