‘Big O’ coming for Sportsworld Classic

Ronnie Coleman, an eight-time winner of the prestigious Mr Olympia will flex his rippling muscles at the annual Sportsworld Classic to be staged at the Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence, Macoya, Tunapuna on Friday and Saturday.

He will not be coming alone, however, as bodybuilding fans will have the opportunity to re-acquaint themselves with Jay Cutler who was runner-up to Coleman and eighth placed Troy Alves who showcased their muscles here over the past two years.

Also expected here are the president and vice-president of the International Federation of Body Building officials.

Popularly called “Big O”, Coleman promises to do a posedown with local bodybuilder Lawrence “The Beast” Marshall, who is also a promoter of the show.

Fans will have to pay $225 to see Coleman if they purchase tickets in advance or $250 at the door.

Tickets go on sale at Bio-Fitness Gym, West Mall; Sportsworld, Henry Street; Francis Fashion/Shoe Locker, West Mall, Flagship, Queen and Henry Streets and Gulf City Mall.

Semi-final action at the classic begins from 4 pm on Friday, and the finals will start at 7 pm on Saturday.
