Brown (154) blasts Moosai’s into final

Brown blasted 14 fours and four sixes in 154, and with James Dodd cracking 81 with 10 fours and one six. Moosai’s Sports romped to 339 in reply to Curepe Sports 172 last weekend.

The victory gave Moosai’s Sports 20 points for a total 139 and the North Zone title over nearest rivals Queen’s Park.

Moosai’s Sports will now meet Old Mac Exchange in the final at Monroe Road Ground, Cunupia on June 2, 3, 4 with the winners advancing to the TTCB Second Division next season.

Dodd had a very good allround match, claiming six wickets for 37 runs in the Curepe Sports innings.

And Marlon Bharath in claiming two wickets for 75 runs when Curepe Sports batted a second time, took his season’s tally to 47 to erase the season record 45 wickets previously held by Brian Affonso.

Moosai’s Sports coach Claude Phillip said he feels vindicated, since he set his goal this season to winning the North Zone and at least reaching the final.
