Pregnant victim still hospitalised

Ali-Chin, a teacher at the El Dorado Secondary Comprehensive School, died almost instantly when a Mitsubishi Lancer slammed into her Nissan car along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway on Tuesday.

Ali-Chin was thrown through the front windscreen of the car onto the highway. Her 23-year-old daughter suffered injuries and was quickly taken to the hospital where she remains warded. The driver of the other car also had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police sources said the driver may face a criminal charge of reckless driving. Yesterday, students at the school had to put aside mourning of their teacher as they wrote their CXC examination at the school.
