The winner will receive $10,000 and a return trip to New York, a modelling scholarship, jewelery and a hamper.

The contestant placing second will collect a lap top computer, modelling scholarship, jewelry and a hamper while the third prize is $3,000, a trip for two to Tobago; modelling scholarship and jewelry.

Prizes will also be awarded for Miss Elegance, Miss Intelligence, Miss Amity, People’s Choice, Best Gown and Best Hair Style.

Pageant producers Inshan Dookran and Steve Harry stated that the Jordis Fashions Designs Limited, has created a pageant of a new dimension to commemorate the 161st anniversary of the Indian Arrival.

They also said that the pageant offered a “wonderful opportunity to promote the improvement of East Indian women to develop their personality and confidence in their capacity to bring about changes through collective strength.”

The show begins at 8 pm at the Centre Pointe Mall Auditorium, Ramsaran Street, Chaguanas.

The nine contestants are Abigail Beddeau Karen Seeram , Urvashi Rajaram, Varold Seedarie, Amanda Thompson, Sheena Ramlochan, Devika Nanack, Crystal Badal and Vijyanti Ramoutar.
