Doctors hustling private work

She was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit in Mount Hope Medical Sciences Complex with a broken femur (thigh bone) a broken jaw, and broken collar bone. She needed a Cat Scan but the one at the hospital was non-functional so they had to wait until she was stabilised before she could be moved to Medical Associates to have one done.

The Intensive Care Unit was told of all her allergies and she is a vegetarian and drinks only soya milk. She was moved out of ICU and into the Chaconia Suite Room 302 and was given the wrong kind of dairy resulting in diarrhoea. She was scheduled for surgery on Wednesday May 10, 2006 but a doctor said she was too dehydrated to have the surgery.

As I write this letter my sister has a fever due to an infection she developed because she has a piece of metal inserted below her knee which is creating a hole. This hole is now being stuffed with cotton.

Yesterday while my mother was visiting a doctor told my mother why she doesn’t pay her money, that another doctor has his private practice where she will be comfortable and well taken care of. So, in other words poor people are at the mercy of doctors who have no moral or code of ethics other than the ethics of money, so poor people are now at the mercy and under siege by unscrupulous physicians.

Are they waiting for gangrene? We need some law in this country where poor people can get some redress and be able to sue doctors for negligence.
