Sunday brunch at Trinity Cathedral
Dr Phaedra Pierre, secretary of the Brunch committee expects each parish church to encourage its parishioners to either purchase tickets or to help in supplying ingredients for the meal which this year will take on a Nigerian flavour.
Tickets cost $120 each and can be purchased at the Cathedral office, Metropolitan Book Suppliers and from Cathedral parishioners.
Sunday morning’s fund-raising brunch has as its theme “A Family Gathering — Preserving Our Heritage.”
The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity is 183 years old. Many priests were stationed at one time or another at the Cathedral or have an affiliation, through the canons and archdeacons of the church.
“We want them to come back home and to bring their parishioners with them,” said Margaret Stewart, People’s Warden at the cathedral and Brunch Committee member.
The committee is soliciting for donations of food items such as raisins, peanut butter, ketchup, eggs, cornmeal, ochroes, pimentos, black eye peas, yam, cassava and meats that will make up the dishes on the menu for the brunch.
