Hermitage take South crown

Setting a winning target off 181 runs, HYO struggled to 157 for eight when the match was called off as a draw.

They had already taken first innings points after scoring 258 in reply to Cedros’ first innings effort of 186.

HYO finished with 148 points to take the title, while Cedros came in second with 142.

In Division Two, the winners were Juniors Sports, after they crushed Young Lions by an innings in their seventh round clash at Piparo.

Juniors on the back of 73 from Clive Jackson and 49 from Rudloph Modeste, counted 358 runs. Pacer Kevin Redhead then took over to claim 7/60, to bowl out Young Lions for 154.

Following on with a deficit of 204 runs, Young Lions were bowled out in their second innings for 180 — losing the match by an innings and 24 runs.
