Nedd exhibits at Horizons

Looking at the exhibition as a whole one sees plainly the influence of Martin Superville in the work, the play of light and shade on the dancers, the dramatic, dark backgrounds that highlight the swirl of skirts, the windings of headcloths in these pieces.

However, the near-featureless faces in almost all the work detract from the overall effect of joy in the dance, most particularly in the piece “ I Love Dancing 2”.

“Red Fish” is rather more sombre than most of this artist’s paintings of men fishing.
