Khan: 555 the way to go

Khan noted that when he established the Guardian Angels in April 2003 to deal with crime, he was attacked by Government for establishing a “vigilante” organisation.

Saying that the group was established to provide a conduit for information to flow from the community to the authorities, Khan said he hopes that the 555 anti-crime programme would make a significant difference in the Government’s fight against crime. Claiming that Government had been lethargic, visionless and intellectually bankrupt in its crime-fighting strategies, Khan said: “Nonetheless it is the hope of every citizen that the Government succeeds with its various initiatives, because our very lives depend on it.”
