Dookeran welcomes name change

He noted that this had resulted in everyone giving their own national awards. “I myself was a recipient of one such award two weeks ago,” he noted.

Dookeran said however that he had some misgivings about the membership of the committee. He said there should have been consultation with interest groups and the Opposition in the society in the formulation of the committee so that there would be consensus in respect to the committee’s membership. “I did not get a feeling of confidence when I heard the members of the committee,” he said.
