Deportee group needs data

Displaced Nationals in Crisis Coalition (DNICC) CEO, Marlene Jaggernauth complained that foreign researchers are accessing data which she alleged is being denied to her group. “Requests for empirical data sought by DNICC through the Freedom of Information Act are ignored or passed on to other Government departments, or I am being told by officials that the data requested is in violation of a person’s confidentiality,” Jaggernauth said.

She said that despite the FOI Act mandating that requests from the public must be responded to within 30 days, she had not received timely responses to her requests from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of National Security, and the Office of the Prime Minister.
