Hampton honour Crawford, 1976 Olympians

The function takes place at the Mas Camp Pub, corner Ariapita Avenue and French Street, Port-of-Spain from 11 am.

Crawford who sprinted to gold in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Canada, will be honoured along with his track and field teammates Ainsley Armstrong, Joseph Coombs, Charles Joseph, Anthony Husbands, Michael Solomon, George Swanston, Horace Tuitt and manager Basil Ince.

Coach Hubert Francis, a founding member and ex-president of Hampton, Christopher Braithwaite and Francis Adams will also be honoured posthumously by the committee. There will be entertainment at the luncheon provided by Surge and Abebele.

Patrons will need to dish out $100 apiece for the event, with tickets available from Hampton president Rawle Raphael at 89 Tragarete Road, Woodbrook.
