In Tobago, people can follow the exploits of TT skipper and hometown hero Dwight Yorke and the Warriors in places such as the Arnos Vale Hotel in Plymouth, Bar Code Bar in Scarborough, After Hours Restaurant in Crown Point, Blue Haven Hotel in Bacolet, the Hilton Tobago in Crown Point and the Blue Waters Inn in Speyside. These venues will also be showing all of the other World Cup matches leading up to the finals on July 9. However 51 Degrees restaurant in Port-of-Spain will focus mainly on TT’s World Cup games and some of the other matches. In terms of how the games will be aired at these venues, the main choice of the owners was large screen tvs or four to 13 monitors placed at strategic locations for patrons to watch the matches in comfort.

Staff at several of these business places said they expected large numbers of persons coming to see the World Cup matches but traffic should be the highest on days when TT, defending champions Brazil or football powers such as England, Argentina, France and Italy are playing.

Hosts Germany get the ball rolling today when they play Costa Rica in Berlin at 1 pm.
