The equipment will be brought into the country within the next four months — after the rainy season has already started.

Imbert conceded that it would have been better if the equipment was here at the start of the rainy season.

Speaking at yesterday’s post-Cabinet news conference, Imbert said there was a lack of capability in dealing with serious flooding incidents because most of the equipment was engaged in the construction sites and because the existing fleet of the Ministry was 20 years old.
