Arima man shot dead

After the noise stopped, Hernandez cautiously checked outside and spotted her stepson Jason Miller dead on the porch with several gunshots to his body.

A report was made to the Arima police who arrived shortly after and cordoned off the house. The District Medical Officer viewed the corpse and ordered it removed to the Forensic Sciences Centre in St James where an autopsy was carried out yesterday.

The victim’s uncle Junior Miller told Newsday that he was saddened to hear of his nephew’s death.

“On the night he was shot, I had just arrived in the country from my home in Maryland, USA. I am on vacation and I hear that Jason get kill. He was going to live in Maryland with my family,” Miller said.

He said Jason was a mechanic and was looking forward to the trip to Maryland.

The autopsy report revealed Miller died of shock and haemorrhage consistent with multiple gunshot wounds. No motive has been established for the killing and detectives from the Homicide Bureau are continuing investigations.
