Soldier held

A 28-year old soldier of the Defence Force was arrested on Saturday night at Morvant Old Road, after he and two occupants were found in a stolen 323 car.

Reports revealed that at about 8.30 pm, a member of the public saw the 323 car bearing a false number plate at Morvant. Officers of the E-999 were contacted as well as officers of the North Eastern Task Force.

The vehicle was intercepted at the Morvant Old Road and three occupants of the car arrested. Police officers were able to trace the car to an Arima owner.

The car was stolen last year. Up until late yesterday, the soldier was still detained at the Morvant Police Station.
