Emily’s mother not pregnant

Yesterday, court prosecutor Sgt Harricharan Kassie, told the magistrate that Anamanthodo is not having a baby in prison.

“The media publicised that the accused was pregnant, but that is not so Your Worship,” Kassie told Wellington.

Anamanthodo was again ramanded into custody by Wellington. The case was adjourned to July 3.

In the same court, Emily’s stepfather, Marlon King, 33, re-appeared in court charged with the girl’s murder.

Emily, of Marabella, was pronounced dead on the night of May 15, upon arrival at the San Fernando General Hospital. Wellington postponed King’s case to June 28.

King also re-appeared in the Fourth Court before Magistrate Andrew Damanie on a charge of house-breaking and larceny. The incident allegedly occurred in 2002.

Before that matter was called, King sat on a chair outside the docks and away from other prisoners. On May 29, King was beaten by prisoners in the court’s cell block and had to be taken to the nearby hospital.

The magistrate postponed that case to June 28.
