Fake cops kidnap Venezuelan national

According to police reports, at about 12.30, Louis Ronlal, 50, owner of a taxi service, was driving along the Eastern Main Road with his common-law wife, when he stopped his vehicle at the corner of College Road, at the UWI traffic lights.

Two occupants disembarked from a black Lancer motorcar and told the couple that they were police officers and ordered them out of the vehicle.

The couple got into the Lancer with the two men. On reaching the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, in the vicinity of Aranjuez, one of the men pointed a gun at the woman, and said “This is a kidnapping, we are not officers, get out!”.
