Boy, 14, on indecent assault charge

The young accused appeared before Princes Town Magistrate Indira Cedeno in the First Court. He had been granted $10,000 bail by a Justice of the Peace at the Princes Town CID after he was charged on Wednesday night. The charge stemmed from an incident which allegedly occurred on Saturday June 17 at the home of the accused in Princes Town.

It is alleged that the accused invited the seven-year-old boy, whom he knows, into his bedroom. The accused allegedly placed his hands into the boy’s pants and fondled his buttocks. The boy later told his parents and a report was made to PC Terrance Rahim at the Princes Town CID.

When the matter was called yesterday in the First Court, Cedeno ordered everyone, with the exception of the relatives of the accused and the boy, out of the courtroom.

Cedeno adjourned the matter to July 6.
