BWIA ex-workers to meet
In a release yesterday, ACAWU said the meeting will discuss “a new interesting proposal which the union is supposed to receive from the company.”
Contacted yesterday, ACAWU president Curtis John said the ex-BWIA workers being called to next week’s meeting are those who were retrenched during the period 2001 to 2003. He said the proposal in question is connected to a matter currently before the Industrial Court.
BWIA’s management and the union resumes talks pertaining to the airline’s restructuring this week. John said follow-up talks could take place towards the end of the month.
