Education, the gate to success

I was about to repeat the rounds when I met the girl of my life. Only God could have brought her to me and she has a very good influence upon my life.

I was bright in school but somehow, somewhere, I forgot to get somewhere and now I have met this girl, I want to get there fast. She is a Born Again Christian who insists no sex before marriage. I love her so much, I have stopped smoking, and I have curtailed my activities which were taking me down the road, faster than I cared to think.

I have also finished with bad company because my goal is to make her my wife, and to do that, I have to make me somebody first.

I said all that to say, now that our Prime Minister has cared enough for us youths to bring GATE into being I am willing to turn away from the life of crime which can cost lives and heartache and become a good, caring and loving citizen.

My girl and I have found schools to further our education and we are asking the Prime Minister and the Minister of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education, to finalise matters so GATE can come into play allowing those of us who cannot afford private tuition to make a difference in our lives, hoping to be good parents of tomorrow.

While at it, perhaps the Minister can also work on the Accreditation file which I am told is waiting on Mr Abdul to put his signature.
