Gowns costing as much as $2,000
A sales representative at Micles boutique on Frederick Street told Sunday Newsday that the majority of graduates are opting for shiny and simple dresses.
“Some prefer the classic look, and some have their eyes fixed on the pastel coloured dresses,” she said, adding that prices for graduation gowns range from $399 to $2000. “It depends on the style they choose,” she added.
At City Styles, also on Frederick Street, ‘puffy styled’ dresses are the best sellers. Natasha, a sales representative at the store said the popular colours are blue, orange, green and black.
“There are those exceptions where girls are looking for short revealing outfits. They just want to be different,” she said.
Prices for gowns at this store ranged from $350 to $1,500.
At Ves Fashions located in the Aboutique Mall, pastel coloured dresses are in stock. A sales representative there said fitted dresses are in demand. “Parents are a bit cautious when choosing our dresses, our prices run from $1,500 to $2,800,” she said.
