TV station fuelling crime

This weekend’s trilogy, ‘29 Palms’, ‘The Good Thief’ and ‘The Big Hit’, glorified the life of crime sending messages that: ‘Crime is glamourous and pays.’ ‘Criminals are romantic.’ ‘Fall in love with a murderer, a thief, or a kidnapper.’ ‘The Criminal is a good benefactor.’

Isn’t it about time that television stations, when so many young and impressionable people are on vacation you use your great influence to send a strong message that, ‘Crime does not pay?’

Someone in the Ministry of National Security should be more attentive to local programming and see the ‘copycat crimes’ that follow as was the case many years ago following the kidnapping-based movie ‘Ransom’.

Parents be more vigilant about what young people view both on local and Cable TV. Do not allow the seed of crime to be further implanted into our society. ‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’.
