Emancipation queen show

Eight contestants, all members of staff at the hospital will compete for the coveted title. Participants will represent countries in Africa in their dress and talent. They will also be quizzed by the panel of judges on aspects of the country they represent.

According to Winfield Cole, committee chairman the show is a means of maintaining and promoting an environment of camaraderie amongst all departments.

Theme of this year’s show is “Unity of the Global African Family.” The African nations represented are: Miss Botswana , Madixia Broomes; Miss Cameroon, Kelda Cornwall; Miss Somali, Toni Dyer; Miss Ethiopia, Nicole Hazel; Miss Kenya, Kristal Lewis; Miss Nigeria, Alicia Wellington; Miss Sudan, Vanessa Young; Miss Ghana, Lisa Cox. Miss Somali, Adanna John, is the outgoing queen.

The show begins at 4.30 pm. Tickets are available at the cashier’s booth at the PoS General Hospital.
