Man beaten and robbed

A 63-year-old businessman was robbed, beaten and his two daughters raped on Tuesday night, according to police reports.

Reports revealed that at about 6 pm, the businessman left his Arouca home and went to Arima, to deliver a package.

While in Arima, the businessman was confronted by two men who robbed him of cash and then ordered him into a vehicle.

He was driven to his Arouca home where the men ransacked his house and robbed him of a quantity of jewelry.

The two daughters of the businessman, ages 21 and 22, who arrived at the house while the bandits were carrying out the robbery, were ordered into a room where they were both raped and beaten.

The men then took the businessman to a bank where he was forced to withdraw money from an ATM machine.

He was then dropped off at Blanchisseuse at about 9 pm.

A passer-by took the injured businessman to the Arima Police Station and he was later treated at hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
