Emancipation at Gilbert Park

The week of celebrations will begin on Monday 17 at Gilbert Park, Couva, and continue at that venue until July 22 and will include several events. Monday’s opening ceremony begins at 7 pm and ends at 10 pm and will feature a lecture and an educational video presentation.

On Tuesday there will be a Children’s Reading competition from 8 am and on Wednesday a talent competition will begin at 6.30 pm. The committee will hold a Vintage Calypso show on Thursday at 7 pm.

An African Queen show will be held on Friday from 6 pm. On Saturday at 3 pm there will be a libation, followed by a street procession to the Gilbert Park facility and ends with a camboulay.
