Laqtel launching soon

Company officials told Newsday yesterday that all of the necessary equipment it needs is in the country and have undergone the required due diligence and testing.

The officials said the only drawback now is some legal paperwork and once that is done, the way would be clear for Laqtel to open its doors for business.

They added that this paperwork was related to Laqtel’s new technological partner, the Palestine Telecom-munications Company (PALTEL) coming on board.

PALTEL was formed in 1995 and offers a wide range of telecom services including mobile and fixed phone services.

In 2004, PALTEL recorded an estimated US$15 million in revenues. PALTEL is a subsidiary company of the Palestine Development and Investment Ltd.
