Latapy wants to play another season

“I can still play and contribute, but my body is going to decide and right now I feel in decent shape,” Latapy told the Daily Record in Scotland where he is player-manager for Falkirk.

“Maybe I’ll play more at the start of the season when the nicer surfaces suit me better. But I definitely want to concentrate more on coaching.

“People talk about what I do off the field, but I’ve lived this way all my life. I’ll be 38 next month and I’m probably still going to play, so I don’t think my smoking and drinking is really a problem,” he said.

And CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh midfielder Josh Johnson is hoping to make an impact during his trial at Wrexham. The Trinidadian spent the first day of his trial training at Colliers Park on Thursday.

Johnson, who has been capped at Under-21 and Under-23 level for Trinidad and Tobago is determined to make the grade in British football hopefully with the Reds.

“I am looking for a new challenge and want to play at this level,” said Johnson today. “I have seen what other Trinidad players have done and coming over here definitely improved their game and helped us qualify for the World Cup.”

“I will do my best while at Wrexham on trial, but I believe in my own ability and think I can do a good job.

I am really looking forward to it and although it is the biggest step I have ever taken, hope to impress in my time at Wrexham,” he said.

English agent Mike Berry will be overly excited if Johnson can get through as he carried Dennis Lawrence, Carlos Edwards and Hector Sam to the same club.

Johnson is just another player that has been getting interest out of Terry Fenwick’s Jabloteh with World Cup team members Cyd Gray and Aurtis Whitley getting calls from the likes of Leeds United, Gillingham and Queen’s Park Rangers.
