PM leaves on African tour
According to a release from Whitehall , Manning, at the “special invitation of President Olesegun Obasanjo of Nigeria”, will be a special speaker at the Seventh Edition of the Leon H Sullivan Summit which is to be held at Abuja, Nigeria from July 17 to July 20.
The summit is expected to attract over 15 heads of states from all over the world as well as senior representatives of the United States Government and private sector representatives. Some 18,000 delegates attended last year’s summit.
Manning will then pay official visits to Ethiopia and Swaziland after the conference. He returns to Trinidad and Tobago on Friday July 28.
The PM will be accompanied by Education Minister Hazel Manning. Public Administration and Energy Minister Dr Lenny Saith will act during his absence.
