Grande man chopped outside night club

The incident occurred at around 2.25 am yesterday. Police said Triza DeFreitas, of North Eastern Settlement, was liming at Stars Club, on the Eastern Main Road, when he got into an altercation with another man. DeFreitas was attacked as he left the club. He was chopped on the right side of his neck with a cutlass. He was taken to the Sangre Grande Hospital where he received 12 stitches and is now warded in stable condition.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old San Juan man, who aroused the suspicion of police officers on mobile patrol, is due to appear before a Sangre Grande Magistrate tomorrow. Police said the man ran when they approached him. They gave chase and he was held a short distance away. When he was searched, ten grammes of marijuana were found in his possession.
