Labourer’s death stumps pathologist

Given the state of decomposition, pathologist Dr Hughvon Des Vignes at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, was yesterday unable to conclude how Ramkissoon died and ruled the death as inconclusive.

Ramkissoon, 26, of Mora Drive, Sou Sou Lands, suffered broken limbs and multiple injuries caused by beatings about his body, the report said.

He went missing on July 2 after liming at his brother’s house at the ten mile mark, Penal Rock Road. When Ramkissoon’s body was dug out on Friday from a shallow grave in a forested area at the seven mile mark, Penal Rock Road, police held the suspect nearby.

The suspect, detectives said, had assisted police in finding the location of the body, after which he was taken into custody.

Two others, of Penal, were also detained by police, but were later released.

Investigations are continuing.
