More specialty shops for the waterfront

When asked to pick his favourite dessert the talented chef could not settle on one choice so he gave us his top two must haves at the cafe: pineapple tart tatin, a flaky pastry with pineapple poached in rum and amaretto pannacotto, a classic Italian custard with almond liqueur.

Opening hours at the cafe are 7.30 am to 8 pm Sunday to Thursday and 7.30 to 10.30 on Fridays and Saturdays.

In delivering his feature address at the opening of the coffee shop, CrewsInn Group CEO Ernest Littles said that Caffe del Mare “is only the first among several exciting new upgrades and improvements to CrewsInn that will roll out in the coming months, including a new tensile structure covering the upper and lower Village Square allowing for open air banquets and events, year round and allowing for later developments of an upscale retail arcade, populated by speciality shops and boutiques. We will also open before year end, a new waterfront bar”.

Littles added, “while 20-something year olds are by all means welcome, this new waterfront bar will seek to become a venue of choice for those over 35, who seek a relaxed, sophisticated evening out in outstanding surroundings and good company.

While this will be a non-smoking facility, current plans are to provide direct entry into a separate specially ventilated “club” smoking room, where a good cigar and good conversation can be enjoyed, along with quality brandy, scotch or whisky.”
