The lawmen held off a late rally from M&M Harvard to prevail 3-2 at the Diego Martin Secondary School Ground.

And TSTT, one of the new entrants this season, came from a goal down to defeat Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix 2-1 in the first match of a double-header at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar.

At Diego Martin, Police held a comfortable 3-0 half-time lead with strikes from Brian Bain (seventh minute), Jason James (19th) and Jason Boodram (33rd).

But Harvard’s Christian Freitas caused a few tense moments with a pair in the 86th and 90th.

Kevin Stewart put Phoenix ahead in the 29th before Fabien Garcia equalised for TSTT in the 59th. Adrian Nunez found the back of the net, five minutes later, to secure full points for TSTT.

Crab Connection notched their first win of the season with a 2-0 triumph over Defence Force FC in the other match at Malabar. The Army-Coast Guard combination went behind courtesy an own goal from Keston Williams after 30 minutes before Marlon Warner sealed the win in the 42nd. PLIPDECO Caroni were the day’s biggest winners as they crushed Robby’s Engineering Couva Players United 4-0 at Gilbert Park, Couva.

Brent Antoine netted a double for the winners, in the 80th and 84th, following earlier items from Jesse De Four (34th) and St Lucia’s Titus Elva (68th).

WASA FC got a 78th minute winner from Billy Dee Scantlebury to defeat House of Dread 2-1 at the El Dorado Secondary School Ground.
