Send police wrecker to Maracas beach

People are parking on both sides of the road especially near the shark and bake store in the parking lot and worst of all, around the bar which is near the old gas station. Depending on the time of day, we have been stuck in traffic for hours just trying to get past the short distance through Maracas Bay.

In driving through, we saw that it was one badly parked car with people dancing in the road that had caused miles of traffic.

Sometimes it is one car double parked outside the shark and bake store in the parking lot and the result is miles of traffic from both directions.

Last Sunday I took a chance to take my family to Las Cuevas and when returning we were delayed for more than 40 minutes because somebody had gone and built a corn soup shed on the very edge of the road at Maracas Bay and cars parked outside the shed waiting for corn soup caused traffic to back up past Tyrico Bay.

The bar at the end of the beach also has built a shed to sell bake and shark right on the road. My two daughters beg every holidays to go to Maracas but then last Sunday while we were stuck in the car they asked me “Daddy why is everything in our country in so much confusion?” I am pleading with Minister Colm Imbert to please help us at Maracas Bay so that we can enjoy our country and take our children to the beach at least on a Saturday and Sunday. I know that Maracas beach may not be Minister Imbert’s job and I was told to contact the Tourism Division. I feel that by answering letters to the paper Minister Imbert is showing the type of concern that is needed from government ministers at Maracas Bay and that is why I feel he will help us.

Please Minister Imbert allow us to park again behind the beach as we used to all our lives, remove those persons who are building stalls at the edge of the road and please send the wrecker to Maracas on a Sunday. If Minister Imbert will look at these three little recommendations I feel that we will be able to enjoy our North Coast during the school holidays.
