Village council elections

The elections were held at its annual general meeting on July 23, at the Belmont Community Centre. Welfare officer, Cecil Boyce, and vice president, Linus Charles, of the National Association conducted the elections.

The following is the list of the new officers for the new term: Cornelius Lewis (president), Jean Elder (vice president), Anne Marie Noel Samaroo (secretary), Joyce Chow and Veronica Wilson (assistant secretaries), Bissoon Birsingh (PRO), Philma Brown Hyacinth (treasurer), Sundar Seecharan (youth officer), Anthony Rowley (education officer), Martinez Sambrano (welfare officer), Lawrence Leon and Una Graham (trustees).

The new committee members are Winston Simmonds, Wilbert Lezama, Jane Derry, William George, Cecelia Mc Intosh and Elton Scantelbury.
